The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is looking to appoint an outstanding individual to a

Tenured Professorship in
„General Biochemistry“

(W3 salary)

within the Faculty of Natural Sciences I, Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. 

The position will commence at the earliest possible date.

We are looking for an outstanding and internationally recognized scientist researching in a current field of biochemistry who will signi­ficantly strengthen and shape the established research foci of protein, RNA and/or molecular plant research. In addition to collaborating in existing research networks, a leading role in establishing new ones (in cooperation with local intra- and extramural entities) is desired. The well-resourced professorship, as well as the scientific environment in Halle, offer excellent research opportunities for the successful candidate.

The candidate should be able to represent the entire subject of biochemistry in teaching, including Bachelor and Master programs of the Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology and related disciplines. Further duties result from § 34 of the Saxony-Anhalt Higher Education Act. 

Duties and responsibilities are stipulated in section 34 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities.

Applicants must fulfill the pre-conditions of appointment as stipulated in section 35 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities. Particular emphasis is placed on a Habilitation in the relevant field, or an equivalent level of scientific achievement and recognition. Candidates are expected to have attained the appropriate level of experience or qualification in teaching.
