The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) at the University of Washington (UW) seeks a nationally recognized investigator to assume Directorship of the existing UW Nathan Shock Center for Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging (NSC). The Director of the UW NSC is expected to develop and implement a vision for research in an area related to the biology of aging and to maintain a vibrant research program funded by extramural sources that adds value and dimension to the

Additionally, the candidate will participate in teaching and mentoring activities in the DLMP Molecular Mechanisms of Medicine and Disease PhD program and the Medical Laboratory Scientist Master’s program.

The candidate is expected to celebrate and join our commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture in the DLMP by teaching, mentoring, working with, and collaborating with a broad community of individuals with varying backgrounds and experiences.

Requirements:

  • Experience in biology, medicine, or a related field (or foreign equivalent).

Additional requirements apply to candidates who want to engage in clinical care of patients including holding or being eligible for Washington State Medical License and Board-certification.
