Job Title: Faculty Positions in Neuroscience
Department: The Brain and Intelligence Research Institute, HKUST (GZ)
The newly established Brain and Intelligence Research Institute at HKUST (GZ) seeks applicants for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the rank from Assistant Professor to Professor. Candidates pursuing research in all areas of neuroscience are welcome to apply. Those with expertise in the studies of synapse formation, function, and neuronal circuits; brain disorders mechanisms, biomarkers, and drug discoveries; information processing in the brain and in connection with computer and artificial intelligence are especially welcome. Joint appointments with other departments of HKUST are encouraged.
HKUST is a young university with focus on research excellence. It has risen to a top ranked university in Asia in a short thirty years. Neuroscience is one of the key areas of the university with a State Key Laboratory in Molecular Neuroscience (For details of current neuroscience faculty members, please visit: https://skl-molneurosci.hkust.edu.hk/our-scientists). HKUST recently established a new campus in Guangzhou, China, with the aim to promote cross-disciplinary and synergistic research with the same level of research excellence. Qualifications of Candidates:
Applicants should have a doctoral degree and relevant postdoctoral experience. Fresh PhD with exceptional record will also be considered. Appointees will be expected to establish an independent, internationally recognized research program and contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
Salary is highly competitive of international standard and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Generous start-up funding, ample laboratory space and excellent research equipment and support will be provided.
All posts are Mainland China appointments to be offered by the HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local employment laws and regulations. Appointment to Professor rank and some Associate Professor rank will be made on substantive basis while initial appointment to other faculty ranks will be made on a fixed-term contract of up to three years.
