Research Scientist or Research Associate

A research scientist or research associate position is available immediately in the Department of Neurosurgery at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. The position involves basic and translational research in the areas of tumor growth and progression in the brain. Applicants should have an M.D. or Ph.D. with 3 or more years of post-doctoral research experience. In particular, technical skills related to the generation and characterization of genetically engineered mouse models is preferred. The applicant should also be skilled in the development of primary cell culture systems as well as cell isolation for transcriptomic and genomic analysis. Experience in biochemistry and molecular biology is preferred. Experience in neuroscience and mouse colony maintenance is also important.
