The Oncology Translational Research (OTR) group at NIBR is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a lab head investigating the mechanisms of efficacy and resistance to ground breaking cancer therapies. Working collaboratively with our early clinical, drug discovery, and data science groups, you will be responsible for directing a team and tasked with the design & execution of translational studies to identify intrinsic and acquired resistance mechanisms in preclinical experiments and from clinical samples. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cancer cell biology, familiarity with innovative cell and molecular biology techniques, and a strong ability to think creatively and problem solve. Experience with studying the response/resistance to small molecule, biologic or immune oncology therapies, as well as computational skills would be helpful but not required. In addition to outstanding scientific and technical skills, this role requires someone with a desire to work collaboratively, lead a research team and scientific projects, as well as clearly communicate their science.

Your Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Leverage pre-clinical tools/assays and clinical samples to study resistance mechanisms to emerging therapies

- Design and run translational studies including screens for new targets and testing new drug combinations/next generation strategies to combat resistance

- Lead a research team and collaborations with groups across NIBR oncology

- Supervise, train and mentor junior associates

This position will be located at the Cambridge, MA site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position may require 0-2% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).”
