ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, US Medical Affairs, Rare Hematology provides support for the US Rare Hematology/Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Medical strategy to achieve short- and long-term medical objectives in alignment with the overall business strategy. He/she is an integral member of the US Medical team, supporting ongoing and new medical initiatives to enable productive internal cross-functional and external professional partnerships. He/she works to develop appropriate collaborations externally to strengthen medical networks and promote scientific data generation. He/she works to develop SCD-focused medical communications and supports the US Medical Affairs operating plan while putting the patient first within the spectrum of the Pfizer Core Values and Behaviors.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports the development and execution of US Medical strategies and tactics in support of the SCD portfolio

• Participates in promotional material development and RC support of medical content review, including established portfolio and launch-critical assets

• Within RC, partners with legal, regulatory and marketing colleagues to ensure compliant, accurate and high-quality content of all promotional and sales training materials

• Serves as needed as a Medical Affairs reviewer for MRC (Medical Review Committee)

• Gathers customer insights
  • Tracks competitive intelligence relevant to the Rare Hematology landscape
  • Participates in planning and execution of Advisory Boards to gather expert advice on medical communications and initiatives

• As needed, partners cross-functionally with FMDs and other customer-facing roles to gather critical feedback to help integrate into strategy development and execution

• As needed, supports POAs and Sales training needs through partnership in developing materials and provide expert medical presentations and education. Support development of training modules

• Supports data generation/analyses and ensures medical and scientific accuracy of manuscripts and abstracts/posters.

• Initiates and maintains communications with the leadership of professional societies and patient advocacy groups to further Medical objectives

• Partners with Medical Information colleagues to provide expert input into Medical Letters and ensure updates as needed

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • MD/DO professional degree required
  • 1+ years in Medical Affairs experience required
  • Knowledge and experience in SCD/Hematology is preferred
  • Basic understanding of the drug development process
  • Basic knowledge of health care economics and its impact on medical decision making
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Professional demeanor & excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with external customers /internal colleagues
  • Customer-oriented approach and ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Proven strategic thinking skills and ability to interpret and implement strategic directions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deal effectively with deadlines
  • Creativity, resourcefulness, high energy and flexibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

For roles based in New York City: The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,800.00 to $269,600.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
