Oncology Research and Development (ORD) is working to change the trajectory of cancer by translating breakthrough discoveries in cancer research into the best medicines imaginable for patients. Our Tumor Biology Tumor Fitness and Evolution group supports small molecule cancer drug discovery and development all the way from target discovery and validation through early clinical development.

What You Will Achieve

As a member of our Tumor Fitness and Evolution Discovery Biology team, you will support lab-based research projects to identify and validate novel druggable targets. As you support projects, you will gain exposure to the larger Pfizer organization, learn various cutting-edge techniques, contribute to collaborations with cross-functional teams, and be a part of a culture that embraces scientific excellence and personal development.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Maintain and establish various mammalian cell lines and organoids used to credential new targets
  • Perform cellular and biochemical assays to evaluate the outcome of various genetic or chemical perturbations
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data to the team and/or organization
  • Troubleshoot experiments in a timely manner
  • Learn and apply new techniques to support ongoing drug discovery efforts
  • Interface with project teams, develop research plans, contribute in-lab, manage Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and mentor junior colleagues


Qualifications

Must Have
  • PhD degree in Molecular/Cellular Biology, with 2+ years of post-doc experience in the field of tumor biology.
  • Track record of successful contribution to research projects, leading to project advancement and/or peer reviewed publications
  • Expertise in routine molecular and cellular techniques; for example: qRT-PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, ChIP, cloning, stable cell line generation
  • Familiarity with human organoid cultures, CRISPR-mediated gene editing, NGS sample prep, plate-based assays, NanoBRET/NanoBiT, and/or flow cytometry
  • Strong communication skills--verbal and written and strong presentation skills


Nice To Have

  • Knowledge in the field of hormone-dependent cancers
  • Experience querying oncology databases, such as cBioPortal, TCGA, and DepMap
  • Related industryR&D experience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $82,400.00 to $137,300.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
