The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics in the College of Graduate Studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  The 12-month position is supported by a competitive salary and benefit package, fully funded by the institution.  

The successful candidate will participate in team-taught courses for osteopathic medical, dental, pharmacy, optometry and health sciences students in Biochemistry and related topics that may include cell biology, human genetics, metabolism, molecular biology, and nutrition.  Applicants with expertise to teach in several of these areas will be given preference. 

The new faculty member will also have the opportunity to participate in research training of graduate students and will be expected to establish an independent research program capable of attracting extramural funding.  Competitive startup funds will be provided, as will laboratory and office space. 

Education and Experience:

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, with at least two years of post-doctoral training, excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong commitment to excellence in teaching of future healthcare professionals. 

The Downers Grove, IL campus of Midwestern University is located on a beautiful, wooded, 105 acre campus just 25 miles west of Chicago, IL.  There is easy train and expressway access to the academic, cultural and recreation amenities of the city and greater Chicagoland area.
