The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking applications for two full-time, tenure/non-tenure track faculty positions in the Department of Oral Biology and Diagnostic Sciences. Didactic teaching responsibilities include pre-doctoral (dental) and graduate courses, primarily in the areas of physiology, pharmacology or microbiology, and mentorship of graduate and postdoctoral trainees. Contributions in scholarly activity and service are also expected in areas that complement ongoing research within the department and college/university. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Significant postdoctoral experience, a strong record of research accomplishment, and the ability to develop a vigorous, extramurally-funded, independent research program, are expected. Experience working in a culturally diverse environment is desirable. For full consideration, please submit a complete curriculum vitae, together with a cover letter that contains (1) a statement of teaching philosophy; and (2) a statement of research achievements, plans and goals; and (3) contact details for three professional referees.

The successful candidates will hold a PhD degree in oral biology, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, or a related basic medical science field. A dental or medical qualification is highly desirable, with preference given to dual-qualified applicants. Research focus in the area of oral cancer biology is preferred, but applications from candidates working in other areas of molecular and cellular oral biology are welcome. Experience in grantsmanship and having secured extramural research funding is highly desirable, and expected for appointment at higher rank. Starting salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Qualified candidates should apply on-line at www.augusta.edu/hr/jobs/#job-portals, using the Job ID# 251821 or 251822 and the department name as listed above.

All successful candidates are required to pass a background check review.  For specific positions, the final candidate may be required to undergo a (pre-employment) physical, drug screen, and/or credit check. The final candidate will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree in the form of an original transcript.  Candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
