AND THE RBHS CENTER FOR CELL SIGNALING (CCS)

MULTIPLE FACULTY POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Basic and Translational Biomedical Research

Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), Center for Cell Signaling, and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) are jointly recruiting multiple junior to mid-level tenure-track faculty in all aspects of biology, including cancer and cancer immunology, stem cell biology, neuroscience, aging, radiation effects, and metabolic and degenerative diseases that could complement and expand growing programs in basic and translational research. Recruited faculty will be expected to establish an innovative, independent, and collaborative research program addressing significant and fundamental questions. NJMS areas of excellence include; brain injury and stroke, oncology, cardiovascular biology, immunology and infectious disease, neuroscience, and stem cells and regeneration.  Interdisciplinary and translational approaches that establish collaborations with the Center for Immunity and Inflammation (CII), the CINJ consortium faculty, as well as faculty on the Newark and New Brunswick campuses are encouraged.

Faculty members will hold joint appointments in one or more academic or clinical departments, including the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, The Department of Medicine, The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, The Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Medicine, The Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Neuroscience, and The Department of Radiology. Faculty may also have joint appointments at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), one of only 45 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, and the only such center in New Jersey.  CINJ is a leader in basic, translational, population, and clinical cancer research and cancer treatment (www.cinj.org). The position will be supported by a competitive start-up package with exceptional candidates being considered for further support as Chancellor Scholars. Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is located in Newark, NJ and is part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (http://rbhs.rutgers.edu/), a division of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent), outstanding academic credentials, and have completed postdoctoral training.  In addition, applicants must have demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding for translational research. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. The recently announced extension of the Rutgers Faculty Diversity Hiring Initiative highlights Rutgers financial commitment to attracting and retaining a world-class faculty that embodies our dedication to diversity and inclusion.

The application package should include, in a single pdf file: (1) A one-page Cover Letter outlining relevance of research experience and interests to position description, (2) curriculum vitae, (3) Statement of current and proposed research plan (three page maximum), and (4) contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin in November 2022 and will continue until the positions have been filled.
