200+ compounds in Novartis are supported by bio statisticians in 10+ sites around the globe. Biostatisticians transform clinical data into analyses that build the basis for making innovative drugs accessible for patients. They influence decision-making in cross-functional international teams from early to late phase drug development. Come to an industry leader where you will be responsible for all statistical work, scientific and operational, in collaboration with the clinical trial team. You will have the opportunity to support trial/project/disease-level deliverables for clinical development/research projects with supervision. You will develop and implement modern and innovative clinical trial/experimental designs, statistical methodology in collaboration with a cross-functional team.

Your responsibilities include but not limited to:
• The Senior Principal Data Scientist, Technology and Innovation Analytics, is responsible and accountable for enabling analytics work, scientific and operational, in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams through the use of technology platforms and tools
• Software & computing :Use knowledge of data science and biostatistics to help identify, design and implement opportunities for dynamic data exploration and analysis using reusable tools, e.g. R Shiny Applications. Also, articulate and prioritize analytics requirements to IT teams and ensure high quality delivery of technology components supporting analytics work.
• Scoping and planning: Work closely with the team to gather requirements from the Analytics community for applications, tools or infrastructure that bring value to study teams
• Implementation: Apply your experience in R/Shiny to develop high value/high demand applications to enable the work of end users
• Business impact: Understand complex and critical business problems and where the use of statistics, data science, tooling and computing can enable our work from discovering actionable insights to the automation of processes for reducing effort and time for repeated use.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven knowledge and expertise in data science and its application to clinical trials, more specifically data exploration /visualisation skills and predictive modelling (statistical and machine learning)
• Experience with R for data analysis and R Shiny for application development, strong interest in creating R packages to facilitate reusable and robust tools for data analysis
• Experience with good data science practices (version control, unit testing, CI/CD, etc.)
• Knowledge of drug development and Health Authority guidelines.
