Postdoctoral Fellow Position

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the largest biomedical research body in the world. NIAID is a vigorous biomedicine hub, bringing together biologists, clinicians, and computational scientists to conduct and support basic and applied research pertinent to the comprehension, treatment, and prevention of infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.

A full-time postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in the Neuro-immune Crosstalk Unit at NIAID (Chief: Hao Jin, Ph.D.; NIAID’s Neuro-immune Crosstalk Unit website). The Jin Lab intersects neuroscience with immunology, exploring the new frontier of the regulation of immune responses by the nervous system with an integrative multimodal approach that combines contemporary neurobiology and immunobiology tools and techniques. The successful applicant will engage in a concerted effort to study pressing questions in the neural control of immunity in an inclusive, interactive, and collaborative environment. The applicant can opt to lead a PI-prescribed project or develop her or his own project within the broad framework of the lab.

Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. or M.D. in neuroscience, immunology, or other related areas. Prior experience with in vivo mouse experiments, electrophysiology, or immunobiology is preferred (but not required). The ideal applicant will be highly motivated by a strong interest in the area of neuro-immune interactions, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently as well as within a team. If interested, please send a CV, a succinct description of your research interests, and three letters of reference to Dr. Hao Jin (hao.jin@nih.gov).

This position is subject to a background investigation.
