ROLE SUMMARY
  • Support WRDM Scientific Affairs team in providing operational support to deliver scientific and pipeline update materials to ensure the WRDM President/Chief Scientific Officer is properly briefed and well prepared for key internal and external meetings and presentations
  • Support WRDM Scientific Affairs team in monitoring WRDM pipeline, strategy and performance across a broad spectrum of measures to help inform the strategic narrative to internal and external audiences such as the board of directors and investor community
  • Work closely with the WRDM Scientific Affairs team in coordinating rapid, thoughtful responses to content-related requests of the WRDM President/Chief Scientific Officer from all sources (Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, Investor Relations, Communications, colleagues, etc.)
  • Work with WRDM Pipeline Planning and Scientific Information to support development of the tools, information and insights to make investment and prioritization decisions to maximize the value of the WRDM portfolio
  • Work with WRDM Pipeline Planning and colleagues from across Pfizer to build an understanding of TA- and RU-level plans and investment strategies to ensure Pfizer's R&D efforts reflect a sharp focus on; optimizing investments, effective execution, adapting to the external landscape, and meeting or exceeding delivery expectations


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Source, validate and weave together information from disparate groups to deliver pipeline and program status background materials WRDM President and Chief Scientific Officer
  • Apply advanced concepts and principles to perform research analysis to prepare frameworks, innovative ideas, slides, and background materials presentations for the WRDM President and Chief Scientific Officer in preparation for key internal and external meetings
  • Leverage knowledge of science & business in assisting Scientific Affairs team to develop internal & external presentations, assisting in developing scientific narratives, for the WRDM President and Chief Scientific Officer suitable for stakeholders ranging from scientific to non-scientific (incl. BOD and ELT)
  • Support Scientific Affairs team in addressing requests for information, analyses, actions and decisions from the CEO, ELT,BOD,WRDM-LT and other Corporate and external constituents in a timely, coordinated manner
  • Conduct rapid analyses for the Chief Scientific Officer and President of WRDM, as requested, e.g., competitive intelligence requests, quick portfolio/pipeline analyses, benchmarking summaries, summarizing reports for briefings
  • Support Scientific Affairs team in preparing Executive Briefings and Reporting including Create and publish monthly briefing report for WRD extended leadership (i.e. WRDLT-1), highlighting key internal accomplishments
  • Contribute to the Pre-POC challenge forum, in partnership with RU's, including process and stakeholder management, presentations, and communications
  • Contribute to the WRDM Portfolio Prioritization Review (PPR), in partnership with PDA and Finance, including planning, analytics, stakeholder management, presentations, multi-year impact analysis, real time cross portfolio views, and communications, etc., to allocate funding to the pre-POC clinical portfolio
  • Support WRDM's annual Operating Plan process, working with Pipeline Planning, the Head of WRDM Operations, WRDM Finance, and the WRDM LT
  • Support the optimization of internal resourcing to support the WRDM portfolio partnering with key resource management focused stakeholders - including the Head of Project Planning, GPD Portfolio Management, Finance, Medicinal Science Leadership, Research Unit leadership (i.e CSOs and/or RU Ops leads) etc.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced degree in business or life sciences field strongly preferred (MBA, MS, PhD).
  • 5 or more years of relevant biopharmaceutical experience required
  • 3+ years' experience in crafting scientific presentations for diverse audiences required
  • Desired experience includes portfolio management, project management, finance, strategic planning, business development, and product valuation within management consulting, equity research, and/or in a biopharmaceutical industry environment
  • Bringing a strong and advanced scientific mindset and knowledge to work on scientific initiatives and presentations for the President of WRDM
  • Ability to develop a broad, big picture understanding across WRDM units/lines so that this can be appropriately reflected in the Chief Scientific Officer and WRDM President's communications, presentations, briefings, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization without direct authority (Chief Scientific Officers,R&D Partner Line leaders, Finance Leaders, and functional counterparts).
  • Ability to multitask and deal with a large volume of requests / deliverables on a regular basis
  • Ability to quickly/effectively prioritize and balance competing tasks in real-time
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, as evidenced by the ability to tee up the right questions, identify alternative scenarios, articulate resulting implications, and develop recommendations for decision-making or action.
  • Ability to work independently, to own deliverables from end to end, and to respond to tight timelines.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Detailed understanding of risks, opportunities and value drivers in drug discovery and development
  • Good understanding of Pfizer WRDM's structure, objectives and processes preferred
  • Experience with WRDM portfolio investment and innovative clinical development paradigms, including SOCA
  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and complex, strategic conversations, and to influence behaviors in order to create alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and cross-functional teams, with or without direct reporting authority

For roles based in New York City: The annual base salary for this position ranges from $87,300.00 to $145,500.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
