Pulmonary Medicine – Assistant Professor, Sleep Research

The division of Pulmonary Medicine is seeking an independent, tenure-track faculty member in basic science of Sleep Medicine with a focus on circadian biology and its modifiers such as genetics of sleep disorders and hypoxia. The candidate may hold an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD and will be recruited into the faculty investigator track with a large percentage of the effort dedicated to research. The new faculty will be joining a vibrant, collaborative, and rapidly expanding research environment in Sleep Medicine with clinical and basic science leadership provided by Raouf Amin, MD, Director of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine and John Hogenesch, PhD, of the Division of Human Genetics, who has a long track record of high-impact, novel discoveries in circadian biology.  The successful applicant will be a highly creative scientist who will develop a cutting-edge research program that will complement existing research strengths in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. A competitive start-up package and laboratory space will be provided.

Required Education/Experience:

    • PhD degree in a related scientific or technical discipline or MD/DO degree with relevant research fellowship

    • Demonstrated record of scholarly excellence as illustrated by research productivity and impactful scholarly publications

    • Appointment or eligibility to be appointed at the level of Assistant Professor
