UVA Health and University of Virginia School of Medicine has announced a national search for the next Chair of Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics (MPBP).

UVA Health is an academic health system that strives to provide excellence, innovation, and exceptional quality to the care of patients, the training of health professionals, and the creation and sharing of knowledge within a culture that promotes equity, diversity, and inclusivity. UVA Health is an expansive network comprised of the UVA School of Medicine, UVA School of Nursing, UVA Medical Center, UVA Community Hospitals, UVA Transitional Care Hospital, University of Virginia Physicians Group, UVA Community Medical Group, Claude Moore Health Sciences Library, and other strategic partnerships and alliances.

MPBP is the second largest basic science department in UVA Health. Highly interdisciplinary, the faculty pursue breakthrough research and collaborate widely to advance scientific discovery. While the breadth of research topics is extensive, the culture of the department is focused on collaborative and synergistic interactions with a shared commitment to impactful research and training. The Chair of MPBP will ensure and enable excellence in scientific discovery in physiology and biophysics and foster collaborations within the Department and across UVA.
