Postdoctoral Position in Cryo-EM Structural Studies of Amyloids and Prions
Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Witold K. Surewicz in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Case Western Reserve University to participate in research projects exploring structural properties of amyloid fibrils, prions and related protein aggregates using cryo-EM as a primary tool [Li, Q, Babinchak, WM, Surewicz, WK, Cryo-EM structure of amyloid fibrils formed by the entire low complexity domain of TDP-43, Nature Commun 12: 1620 (2021); Li Q, Jaroniec, C.P., Surewicz, W.K., Cryo-EM structure of disease-related prion fibrils provides insights into seeding barriers, NSMB 29, 962 (2022)]. Visit the lab at: Surewicz Lab (google.com).
Highly motivated recent Ph.D. graduates with experience in structural biology and protein biophysics are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in cryo-EM is desirable but not mandatory. Please send by email a brief statement of research interests and career goals, curriculum vitae and names of references to: Professor W. Surewicz, Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH; E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
In employment, as in education, Case Western Reserve University is committed to Equal Opportunity and Diversity. Women, veterans, members of underrepresented minority groups, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
