Open-Rank, Tenure-track position – Cognition

Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Cornell University invites applicants for an open-rank, tenure-track position in Cognition to begin July 1, 2023. Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree, a strong record of published research and external funding commensurate with their rank upon hiring, and interest or experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants at all career stages are encouraged to apply. We are seeking innovative scientists whose research investigates fundamental mechanisms of human perceptual and cognitive systems. Priority will be given to research programs that focus on perception using advanced computational and quantitative methodologies. However, the specific area is open to all areas within cognitive science. Those whose research bridges traditional areas in cognition such as higher-level cognition, language, and memory are also encouraged to apply. Cornell has a strong record and a new initiative in AI (https://news.cornell.edu/stories/2021/12/new-initiative-elevates-cornell-leader-ai). We welcome applicants that are involved in AI from a Cognitive Science perspective.

Review of applications will begin November 1, 2022, and will continue until the position is filled.

For consideration, please upload a curriculum vitae, statements of research and teaching interests, a statement of contribution to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and for applicants at the Assistant Professor rank, three letters of reference to Academic Jobs Online https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/22722.
