What You Will Achieve

This individual will be supporting analytical characterization of viral vaccine strain change activities within the Vaccine Research and Development - Early Bioprocess Development group. The individual will support the DNA template, RNA drug substance and LNP drug product characterization to enable strain changes. The individual will provide scientific and technical support within the team of analytical scientists, as well as work with multifunctional teams outside of their reporting structure.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Provide routine analysis for timely analytical release and characterization of DNA template, RNA drug substance and LNP drug product to support viral vaccine strain change.
  • Plan and execute experiments to bridge and update analytical assays to support strain change activities.
  • Plan and execute initial method performance evaluation using applicable guidelines.
  • Contribute to generating pAb critical reagents, establishing material quality and assay suitability to support strain change activities.
  • Document experiments, analyze data, and provide conclusions obtained from sample testing experiments contemporaneously in either an electronic or paper notebook.
  • Author CoAs, updated analytical methods, method verification reports, etc. to support the manufacturing campaigns.
  • The individual is expected to contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities (e.g., maintenance of equipment, managing laboratory waste, etc.)



Qualifications

Must-Have

  • MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of academic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology experience or an BA/BS plus 6 years of related work experience is required.
  • A strong background in relevant analytical assays is a must, and proven experience in releasing high quality materials is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as excellent documentation skills are required.


Nice-to-Have

  • Proficiency and ability to utilize analytical techniques for characterization of DNA, mRNA, or LNP, and deep understanding of the quality attributes of an RNA LNP vaccine is highly preferred.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standard laboratory conditions - sitting, standing, primarily lab based
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis
