ROLE SUMMARY

This individual will be supporting viral vaccine strain change activities within the Vaccine Research and Development - Early Bioprocess Development group. This individual will be responsible for the manufacturing of RNA lipid nanoparticle (LNP) drug products to enable viral strain changes as required. This individual will provide scientific and technical support within the team of formulation scientists, as well as work with multifunctional teams inside and outside of the viral vaccine strain change group.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and execute lab scale formulation manufacturing activities to support viral vaccine strain changes according to established procedures and SOPs.
  • Document experiments, analyze data, and provide conclusions obtained from formulation experiments contemporaneously in an electronic notebook.
  • Author dose formulation instructions and technical reports in support of critical reagent generation for strain change.
  • Perform formulation characterization using techniques such as pH, osmolality, particle sizing, and zeta potential.
  • The individual will coordinate activities with others, both inside and outside their immediate group, and ensure all related timelines are met.
  • The individual will participate in general laboratory maintenance activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • MS in Pharmaceutics, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related discipline plus 4 or more years of related academic or work experience, or a BS plus 6 years of related work experience is required.
  • Relevant experience in pharmaceutical formulation and process development is a must.
  • Experience with manufacturing RNA LNP drug products and/or other nanoparticles is preferred.
  • Experience with utilizing various biophysical formulation characterization techniques such as pH, zeta potential, and particle sizing techniques is desired.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across a matrix team as well as excellent documentation skills are required.
  • Computer proficiency.

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform data analysis
