A postdoctoral position is available in computational studies of ion channels in the research groups of Drs. Jeffery Klauda (University of Maryland) and Tinatin Brelidze (Georgetown University). Strong background in MD simulations as reflected in first-author publications is required. The postdoctoral fellow will be contributing to the collaborative projects between the two research groups focused on investigating the mechanisms of ligand/ion channel and interdomain interactions in ion channels. A variety of approaches are utilized for the collaborative projects including state of the art computational approaches, machine learning and complementary experimental approaches, including electrophysiology, structural biology, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and fluorescence-based techniques, in addition to animal models. The postdoctoral fellow will have an opportunity to participate in these multidisciplinary studies. For more information on the laboratories please visit https://user.eng.umd.edu/~jbklauda/index.html and https://pharmacology.georgetown.edu/people/faculty/brelidze-2/. The University of Maryland and Georgetown University reside in the vibrant Washington, DC area each with extensive research programs.
To apply, please email a CV, a cover letter describing research interests and experience, reprints of publications, and the names of three references to: Dr. Jeffery Klauda (jbklauda@umd.edu) and Dr. Tinatin Brelidze (tib5@georgetown.edu).
