The faculty member is expected to develop a robust and externally funded research program exploiting the resources and-, capabilities; of MURR to address fundamental questions in plant biology. Examples include, studies of plant carbon or nitrogen dynamics utilizing radioactive 11C or 13N, micronutrient assimilation and/or exchange between plants, soil, and microorganisms, as well as metabolic flux and regulation using isotope ratio analyses. Applications at the Assistant Professor level are encouraged. Candidates at a higher level will be considered if there is a record of extramural research funding, publications, teaching and service expected of tenured faculty at a research-intensive university.

The department has an undergraduate and graduate teaching mission in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CAFNR). The successful candidate will be a member of the Interdisciplinary Plant Group (IPG), a world-renowned group of researchers from seven departments/units with interests in plant biology. He/she will also be a core faculty member of MURR, which operates the highest power (10 MW) university research reactor in the US and is planning a further expansion.
