Associate Research Scientist position is available immediately in the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering directed by Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic. We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and highly accomplished investigator with strong experience in cancer immunology, specifically to study how macrophage phenotypes play unique but synergistic roles in angiogenesis and anastomosis, in native and engineered tissues.  The work will involve (a) development and differentiation of primary and iPS-derived immune cells and immune cell reporter lines, (b) incorporation of immune cells into tissue engineered lung and cardiac models, (c) tissue engineering of bone marrow, lung, and cardiac tissues to study multi-organ crosstalk during health and disease, and (d) single and multi-organ tissue characterization and benchmarking to prior organ-on-chip data and clinical data.

Strong experimental skills and published experience in the area of the project are a must. The investigator is expected to work closely with lab members and collaborators, and help supervise junior investigators working on the project.
