Description

The Center for Childhood Infections and Vaccines (CCIV), a joint entity within Emory Department of Pediatrics and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Children’s), invites applications for a tenure eligible position at all faculty ranks, in the broad area of pediatric immunology and infectious diseases (MD, DO, and/or PhD required).

The faculty appointment will be primarily in the Department of Pediatrics within the Emory University School of Medicine. We offer a highly interactive collegial research environment with state-of-the-art facilities, as well as proximity to and collaborations with the Emory Vaccine Center, Emory Lowance Center for Immunology, the Emory National Primate Research Center, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Clinical trial networks, including the Vaccine Treatment and Evaluation Unit (VTEU) and IMPAACT, operate within the Department of Pediatrics.

Areas of particular interest relate to immune ontogeny, immune responses at the maternal-fetal interface, vaccinology and vaccine delivery. We particularly seek researchers that incorporate precision medicine, big data, and/or artificial intelligence approaches into their investigations. The candidate will be expected to bring an innovative, externally funded research program, as well as engage in cross-disciplinary initiatives. For candidates with an MD or DO, clinical service opportunities may be available in pediatric infectious diseases or other clinical divisions as appropriate.
