Summary

The Ophthalmology Department at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Coordinator II. Research Coordinators are an integral commodity for clinical research. The position requires candidates with attention to detail, good judgment and the ability to multitask and maintain organization. They are primarily responsible for the complete management and monitoring of assigned clinical studies. They liaise with the PI's to ensure timelines, data compilation and compliance. The Research Coordinator is responsible for IRB submissions, interviewing, screening and recruiting patients, site initiation visits, interim monitoring visits and close-out studies, explaining processes and procedures to educate the participants regarding the respective research study.

Job Duties

  • Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database.
  • Collects, processes, ships, and maintains paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for respective research studies.
  • Ensures retrieval and submits test results to appropriate party.
  • Provides correspondence to the patients as necessary.
  • Establishes and manages RB's.
  • Manages investigational drug accountability and investigational site file
  • Navigation of electronic data capture systems and BRAIN
  • Ability to work with Advarra IRB and Western IRB.
  • Ability to coordinate, manage and complete the required submissions, amendments and renewals to the IRB.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • IRB and full study spectrum experience necessary.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
