ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated scientist to join the Systems Immunology group within Pfizer's Inflammation and Immunology Research Unit. This individual would support the development and implementation of systems immunology (single-cell multiomics, systems pharmacology, development of translatable cellular systems, etc.) for drug development in Inflammation and Immunology's portfolio areas. This person will contribute to the execution of technical and laboratory aspects of single-cell multiomics projects, and collaboratively support drug development programs by enabling project teams to comprehensively understand drug candidates. This person must be a subject matter expert in identifying the effects of treatment perturbation using single-cell multiomics, and in the development/execution of complex sample collection from disease models. This person should also be well versed in cross-functional collaboration for drug development.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the growth of single-cell multiomic methods for drug development by supporting ongoing development, execution, validation and troubleshooting of single-cell assays, including multiomic single-cell assays, for in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models of disease and treatment
  • Contributes to cross-functional drug development teams as a Systems Immunology representative by coordinating and supervising all 'omic experimental design and interpretation related to candidate development
  • Perform and operationalize various single-cell analysis workflows; from tissue storage, sample preparation, library construction, data generation, data processing to interpretation of results, ensuring high level of quality and reliability of generated results.
  • Performs or supervises effective optimization of tissue stabilization, dissociation, and purification protocols for use in systems pharmacology experiments
  • Serves as a subject matter resource for single-cell multiomics for drug development
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in single cell multiomic data processing and analysis workflows


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, Biology, or related discipline with 2 -- 5 years of experience in drug discovery or development
  • 1+ years of experience on a cross-functional drug development team
  • Extensive hands-on experience with single cell multiomic data generation methods
  • Extensive hands-on experience with single-cell multiomic analysis and standard bioinformatic pipelines in R or Python


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1+ years of experience in drug discovery or development for inflammation, immunology, or autoimmunity indications
  • Previous experience developing robust sample collection protocols for cross-functional teams
  • Previous experience with high throughput compound profiling using 'omics phenotypes
  • Previous experience identifying the function and effect of drug compounds or perturbations in complex assays
  • Previous experience profiling drug-like compounds in animal or ex vivo models of inflammation
