Biology Professor, Tenured/Tenure-Track, Open Rank
Division of Science
NYU Abu Dhabi

The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for tenured / tenure-track open-rank faculty positions within its Biology Program. We particularly welcome applications from female scholars as well as members of traditionally underrepresented groups. Multidisciplinary research and exceptional teaching in a highly diverse and inclusive campus community are hallmarks of the University’s mission.

NYUAD values diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity; such principles are fundamental to the university’s commitment to excellence. Our faculty are the engines that sustain our inclusive environment; NYUAD students come from more than 115 countries, with no single one nationality exceeding more than 15 percent of the total student population. Likewise, our faculty are highly diverse and community-minded: our modern campus is home to over 320 faculty who represent more than 45 different nationalities, all of whom bring a global perspective to their classrooms and research projects. Research is advanced by over 400 highly qualified research staff, who are likewise drawn from all over the world.

Organized in research clusters as focal point for interdisciplinary research activities, the NYUAD Division of Science and the Biology Program, as part of a major multi-year growth plan, welcome applications by candidates at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank working in the broad areas of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Candidates are expected to have a PhD with an established focus on the above disciplines, an outstanding academic record, strong communication skills, and interest in collaborating with our existing investigators to develop cutting-edge research programs that augment our current strengths in biology, including functional genomics, single cell genomics, epigenetics, metabolomics and imaging. The successful candidate will be part of the Biology Program and will be collaborating with faculty affiliated with the NYUAD Center for Genomics and Systems Biology and NYUAD Public Health Research Center. These are vibrant research environments comprised of experimental groups and computational groups that have access to large repositories of patient samples, data sets, and laboratory-based collaborators. In addition to a full start up package, the successful applicant will receive dedicated salary support. The successful candidate will have access to students and postdocs to join their research groups and will be an integral part of the NYUAD teaching mission at both undergraduate and graduate level. Applicants who hold a PhD should demonstrate an outstanding track record for their career stage in both research and teaching.
