Research Coordinator II

Summary

The Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children's Cancer and Hematology Clinic in McAllen, TX is seeking a full-time Research Coordinator II. The position will entail recruitment, screening, enrollment and monitoring of research participants. Candidate will be interacting with Rio Grande Valley pediatric cancer patients and their families. The position will be located in the McAllen, TX office.

Job Duties

• Interviews, screens and recruits patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
• Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database.
• Collects, processes, ships, and maintains paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
• Receives on the job training of phlebotomy and other duties associated with needs of the study participants and performs venipuncture (blood draws)/obtains vital signs on study participants.
• Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
• Schedules research participants for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research protocol.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
