Summary
This position will require experience with and working knowledge of animal research regulations, best practices and accreditation standards. This position involves conducting assessments related to potential non-compliance and reporting that information to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), working with the Institutional Official and notifying regulatory and accreditation bodies, where appropriate. This position will also conduct post-approval monitoring of approved animal studies and work with investigators to promote a compliant environment for animal research by understanding and applying regulations and institutional policies.

Job Duties
- Conducts non-compliance assessments, as warranted
- Notifies investigators of concerns, schedules and conducts interviews and generates reports for consideration by the IACUC.
- Conducts post-approval monitoring
- Notifies investigators, schedules and conducts interviews, schedules and conducts procedure observations and reports back to the IACUC.
- Specific tasks include promoting the research mission by working with investigators and applying institutional specific polices and procedures. Working with the IACUC and forming a professional and trusting relationship with the members while conducting assessments and other work on their behalf, as authorized.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred experience includes regulatory work, animal research work or related laboratory work.
- Preferred certifications include CPIA, Vet Tech certification or related.
- Knowledge or experience with an animal research oversight body, such as an IACUC would be helpful. Experience with academic meetings, working with faculty or direct work with animals is a plus.
