The Department of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence at Harvard University invites applications for a tenure track junior faculty position. We seek outstanding candidates working in the field of computational neuroscience, broadly defined, whose work will advance the mission of both institutions, and who would be a member of both institutions’ faculty. We seek to recruit a researcher whose work bridges the experimental, theoretical, and computational interests in neuroscience as well as a candidate who makes links between natural and artificial intelligence. We are seeking a researcher who will investigate these questions by developing and applying computational methods, and who will occupy a dry laboratory space. This position offers outstanding scholarly and scientific resources in a collegial and collaborative department with strong ties to related departments throughout Harvard University, the Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals, and the Boston neuroscience community. The position provides the opportunity to join a growing coalition of researchers across the Harvard ecosystem interested in the organization and function of neural circuits using computational approaches. The position also offers the opportunity to teach exceptional graduate and medical students with strong interests in neuroscience and related fields. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent graduate degree.
