The Department of Environmental Health Science in the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level or Associate Professor with tenure. The appointment is an academic year appointment with an opportunity to supplement salary in the summer through external funding.

 Applicants should have a strong academic record in research, teaching, and service in environmental health appropriate to the appointment rank, preferably focusing on health effects of industrial or occupational chemical toxicants in the working environment and mechanistic studies of these toxicants. Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree and one year of postdoctoral training in a discipline related to public health, epidemiology, or toxicology with an emphasis in occupational health and safety. Appointment at the Associate Professor position requires evidence of an independent research program supported by external funding (principal investigator status with ongoing funding is preferred). Strong evidence of ability to produce and communicate research via publications, evidence of excellence in teaching and working with students via previous instruction and mentorship, and a commitment to cultural diversity is required of all applicants.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an externally funded research program, to teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs in Environmental Health Science (including the BS, MS, MPH, and PhD in environmental health science). The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial hygiene, environmental and occupational diseases, or occupational health and safety. The position is available August 2023.
