Univ. of Illinois at Chicago, College of Pharmacy seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The Yu Gao lab at the University of Illinois at Chicago to conduct a variety of interdisciplinary biology and single-cell proteomics projects. Previous experience in either cellular and molecular biology, proteomics, mass spectrometry or data science is a strong plus. Gao lab (https://lab.gy) is well equipped with state-of-the-art mass spectrometers and data analysis platforms. Our research brings biology, chemistry and informatics together to tackle problems in single-cell proteomics, cancer biology, developmental biology and immune systems. Training in proteomics, mass spectrometry and machine learning approaches will be provided once hired. The lab is well-funded and looking for talented PhDs to fill a post-doctoral position. The new hire will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator and keep a clean and clear lab record. The interview of suitable candidates may include a basic knowledge and skill test.
The primary job duties include but are not limited to working independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to conduct high quality research. Cell culture (mammalian cell), protein purification, affinity purification, SDS-PAGE, western blot, molecular biology techniques. Follow scientific literature and present recent advances in related research areas. Attend group meetings and provide necessary helps to others. Keep clean and clear lab records. Under the supervision of the Primary Investigator, with supervision, write methods and other sections of protocols, research manuscripts, and other scientific documents.
