Summary

We are seeking a motivated and organized candidate to join a highly collaborative team. We are looking for a dedicated Research Coordinator III to conduct day to day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. This position requires interpersonal skills necessary to coordinate research studies. This position may require experience with computer spreadsheets and database management. Employees may be required to receive on the job training of phlebotomy and EKGs/ECGs prior to performing on study participants.

Job Duties

  • Interviews, screens, and recruits patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
  • Collects patient information and processes, documents and enters information into electronic medical records and a database.
  • Performs Venipuncture (blood draws), EKGs/ECG's and obtain vital signs on study participants.
  • Collects, processes, ships, and maintains paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
  • Schedules research participant for tests and procedures, such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research protocol.
  • Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party.
  • Corresponds with patient throughout study.
  • Communicates clearly with customers regarding mutual expectations and takes personal responsibility and accountability for correcting customer-service problems.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
  • Conducts all testing procedures required by study protocol.
  • Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participant.
  • Evaluates and analyzes clinical research data.
  • Prepares documentation necessary to obtain initial and continued approval for the specific research protocol.
  • Performs literature searches and prepares literature reviews.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.


Other

Work is located in busy patient clinics, hospitals, office areas, and/or laboratories where there are potential exposures to blood borne pathogens (blood and/or other potentially infectious materials), drugs, and chemicals. Patient interaction and interactions with other employees is required. Rarely required to exert physical effort.
