This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

Medical Affairs team member accountable for US medical vaccine strategy and execution for all medical activities in the US driving effective alignment and synergy across multiple medical plans and activities. Accountable for developing US medical strategy and perspective, ensuring medical strategy and plans are aligned with commercial asset strategy where appropriate. Lead the cross-functional Medical Matrix Team to tailor/ adapt global vaccine strategy for US specific patient/customer needs and environment. Provide strategic oversight of US Tactical Plans to align with global medical affairs. Partner with Global Medical Affairs Lead(s) to assure representation of the US medical affairs perspective, bringing a strong US view on medical strategy and US patient/customer needs as input to global strategy.

Working with global/Local medical and commercial teams, ensures strategic alignment of asset positioning and evidence planning with the overall disease area strategies. Leads appropriate medical engagement between GSK and external communities to advance scientific and medical understanding including the appropriate development and use of our vaccines, the management of disease, and patient care. Coordinate with the US Medical Science Liaisons, Policy and Payor teams to ensure alignment and most effective engagement with top US based EEs, Policy and Payer decision-makers. Working in concert with the US Health Outcomes team, accountable for local evidence generation planning. Steadfast commitment to the ongoing professional development of the talent reporting into the role and others in the organization as appropriate. Effective management of talent reporting directly into role. Applies sound medical governance for all activities and is accountable for medical governance oversight.

Serves as Local Medical Lead (LML) for Vaccines clinical trials and provides local (US/Canadian specific) support to the study design; provides medical/scientific leadership to the local study conduct team and manages all local medical activities required before study start, during the study and after study completion and analysis; provides input on local risk management activities and medical oversight on study quality

Why You?

Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Physician (M.D.), PharmD or PhD. Experience in Infectious Diseases (Adult or Pediatrics) or Immunology and/or Vaccinology 5 + years. Experience in Medical Affairs, experience in effective team and matrix and line management leadership, with proven ability to motivate, influence, negotiate, and collaborate; strong project management skills; solid planning and organizational skills; strong scientific/analytical problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Experience in pneumococcal diseases and vaccines , excellent strategic thinking and leadership skills Strong business acumen and experience building investment cases. Demonstrated relationship-building with the key medical/scientific experts. Strong communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to identify and articulate the value of clinical and heath outcome data to internal stakeholders and external customers. Product lifecycle management experience, including the ability to detect and foresee potential changes in the healthcare, regulatory and competitive environments throughout the product lifespan; to understand the impact of new data on the value / positioning of products in guidelines / formularies; and to proactively identify unmet needs and how to address them. Robust knowledge of the US healthcare environment including disease-specific research priorities, public health need, competitor landscape, clinical practice trends and guidelines evolution. Clinical research/drug development experience obtained while working in the pharmaceutical industry or substantial clinical trial experience collaborating with pharmaceutical sponsors in either the academic or clinical practice setting is desirable. Knowledge and experience in late phase trials and solid knowledge of Vaccine Development and FDA guidance to industry. Excellent communications and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability in building collaborative relationships - ability to work effectively with others, delegate appropriately and foster a culture of collaboration. Developing people - ability to develop influencing/leadership skills in others, act as teacher, coach and mentor toward others.
