What You Will Achieve

As an Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our day-to-day operations. You will join the Analytical R&D organization within Biotherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences in Chesterfield, MO. The group supports manufacturing process development and testing of clinical drug candidates in the R&D setting thus enabling development of gene therapies, vaccines, and biotherapeutics. You will be responsible for applying variety of analytical methods to the assessment of product quality, quantification of impurities, and characterization across projects. You will participate in method development, transfer, and troubleshooting.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Adhere to the highest quality standards and appropriate safety practices in the workplace.
  • Complete all Good Laboratory Practice and safety training in compliance with departmental requirements and follow appropriate safety practices in the workplace.
  • Become proficient in various biophysical and biochemical techniques such as HPLC (SE-HPLC, IEX, RP-HPLC), SDS-PAGE, Capillary Gel electrophoresis (CGE), imaged Capillary Electrophoresis (iCE), Spectroscopy techniques, and other relevant analytical methods.
  • Perform various experiments for analytical method development/qualification and characterization for biological therapeutics such as proteins, polysaccharides, vaccines, and gene therapies.
  • Independently analyze and provide conclusions regarding experimental data generated.
  • Document analytical results in regulated systems and technical reports demonstrating attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Interact effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing, matrixed environment.


Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with Quality Systems in a Good Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} environment
  • Hands on experience or working knowledge in Pharmaceutical industry in handling of analytical instruments
  • Knowledge of drug development process for progression of biological incumbents
  • Good documentation skills with high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, team oriented, effective interpersonal and communication skills


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with laboratory data systems.
  • Working knowledge and ability to operate analytical and physical techniques used for the characterization of pharmaceutical substances and products.
  • Experience in analysis of large molecules.
