UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA

Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology

The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) at the University of Arizona, partnering with the U. Arizona Cancer Center (UACC), invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for appointment with competitive, rank-matched startup support in the fall of 2023. We seek candidates who are addressing important and challenging problems in cancer biology, broadly defined, including but not limited to inflammation, microenvironment/immune system, genome instability, metastasis, cancer genetics and/or computational biology, aligning with university strategic priorities.

The successful candidate will interact with a rich and vibrant scientific community, including the Ginny L. Clements Breast Cancer Research Institute, Arizona Center on Aging, BIO5 Institute, Data Science Institute, and new initiatives in single-cell immunomics and artificial intelligence. We expect the successful candidate to develop an innovative research program, attract external funding, provide research training for graduate and undergraduate students, and teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level. A Ph.D., post-doctoral research experience and a strong publication record are required. For hiring at the associate professor level, strong extramural funding and evidence of a robust research program are required. Regardless of discipline, our selection criterion will be scientific excellence, and the successful candidate is expected to support the department’s efforts for diversity and inclusiveness.
