The primary purpose of the Research Assistant II position is to Assists principal investigator with scientific research projects. Determines specific goals or objectives to be obtained, evaluates research data, develops and revises techniques.

Education
Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
Preferred: Master's degree in biological sciences or related field: Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology
Experience
Required: One year experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
Preferred: Previous experience in rodent handling and maintenance.

Key Functions
- Perform weekly inventories for the transgenic and nude mouse colonies
- Perform genotyping of the transgenic mouse colony
- Maintain tumor banking from the transgenic mouse colony
- Maintain patient-derived xenograft animal models
- Administration of drug therapies by oral gavage and/or intraperitoneal injection
- Perform mouse necropsy
- Process tissue for histology, RNA isolation and protein isolation
- Molecular analytical techniques for gene and protein expression
- Maintain human cell line in vitro cultures
