Assistant/Associate Professor - Department of Pediatrics

A Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor position is available at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.

The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics is inviting the application from a colleague who will develop an extramurally funded independent research program in biomarkers of liquid biopsy of pediatric cancers. Relevant fields could be tumor exosomes, circulating tumor cells or genetic elements, etc. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in a relevant discipline by the time of hire. Past experience in securing extramural research grants is highly desirable. The individual is expected to collaborate with diverse investigators in the division, department, college and other units of the university.

The Department of Pediatrics is the academic department of Penn State Health Children's Hospital, which is continuously one of the top-ranked children's hospitals in the United States. The Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, which will host this position, receives remarkable government and philanthropic funding support. The newly created Four Diamonds Center for Childhood Cancer Innovation is part of a multi-year strategic plan with a $24 million commitment for strengthening patient care, clinical and basic research for pediatric cancer treatment. The position will be offered with a competitive startup package commensurate with background and experience.
