What You Will Achieve

Pfizer's BioMedicine Design Biotherapeutic Expression and Purification group (BEP) is seeking a creative and driven scientist to join our efforts in the development of novel RNA therapeutic platforms. The candidate will play an essential role in providing molecular biology support for the engineering and development of the next generation RNA therapeutics such as circRNA, saRNA and others. This candidate will work in a dynamic group of innovative scientists to push the boundary of RNA translation efficiency and stability. This candidate should be proficient in molecular cloning, plasmid production so that she/he can implement and develop molecular biology strategies to support large scale construct screening effort. Experience in pooled library cloning is also highly desired.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Support molecular cloning and plasmid production
  • Design and implement molecular biology strategies to enable large-scale construct screening
  • Experience in RNA therapeutics is highly desired
  • Experience in pooled library cloning is highly desired
  • Routinely provide updates at project meetings
  • Drive technology innovation: design and implement automation strategies for production and analysis
  • Proactively evaluate emerging technologies to improve plasmid production and QC workflow
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including therapeutic discovery teams, research units, BTxPS, and R&D project leaders


Qualifications

Must Have
  • BS with 6+ years or MS with 4+ years of relevant experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline along with an understanding of biotherapeutic production
  • Hands-on experience with molecular cloning, plasmid production
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross functional teams
  • Organized, detail oriented, multi-task, and remain flexible with changing needs
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work under strict timeline


Nice-To-Have
  • Knowledge and experience in automation.
  • Prior experience in RNA therapeutics such RNA production, DNA/RNA QC, cellular expression analysis.
