The Department of Biology at the University of Rochester
(https://www.sas.rochester.edu/bio/) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in cell, molecular, and developmental biology at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are seeking outstanding candidates whose research programs address fundamental biological problems and who have demonstrated excellence, originality, and productivity in research. Our multidisciplinary biology department affords opportunities for intellectual interactions across diverse research disciplines, with faculty working in the areas of aging, intracellular transport, proteomics, chromatin, DNA repair, RNA biochemistry, transposable elements, biological imaging, synthetic biology, development, and evolutionary biology. For this search, all areas of cell, developmental, and molecular biology will be considered.
Our research and graduate programs are integrated into a world-class life sciences research campus that provides ample opportunities for interactions and collaborations with the adjacent University of Rochester Medical Center. Faculty research is supported by University initiatives including the Institute for Data Science, the University of Rochester Aging Institute, the Center for RNA Biology, the Stem Cell Institute, and the Cancer Center. Research activities across the University are supported by core facilities for imaging, proteomics, functional genomics, computation, small molecule screening, and flow cytometry.
