The Department of Neuroscience, Developmental and Regenerative Biology (NDRB) in the College of Sciences at the University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for at least one open rank tenure-track faculty position in Neuroscience. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related discipline, and a demonstrated ability to direct an independent research program.NDRB has a strong commitment to increasing the diversity of our faculty and to fostering an inclusive environment where all members of the academic and research community thrive. NDRB is a leader in scientific discovery and academic excellence, with research programs covering diverse areas of neuroscience and brain health. NDRB has two vibrant PhD programs, in Neuroscience and in Developmental and Regenerative Sciences, a new research-focused Neuroscience undergraduate degree, and an atmosphere of collegiality and collaboration. The technical expertise and scholarship of the successful candidate will complement the strengths of the current Neuroscience faculty. Research areas of interest include behavioral and human neuroscience, sensory neuroscience, synaptic and circuit plasticity in learning, development, and recovery from brain injury, cellular targets in neurological disorders, brain mechanisms of decision-making, and quantitative connectomics. UTSA is an R1, urban-serving, Hispanic thriving discovery enterprise deeply committed to student success and academic excellence, including growing doctoral education. Expectations for the position include establishing a collaborative, externally funded and nationally recognized research program, inclusively teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and contributing to service to the department, institution and scientific community. Candidates for senior rank will be expected to contribute to program and training grants. Candidates who have not completed their doctoral dissertations (ABD) will not be considered.Tenure for senior rank candidates is contingent upon Board of Regents approval.
