The Department of Pathology and Microbiology, University of Nebraska Medical Center, seeks to fill a full-time tenure-leading faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor with documented evidence of high-quality research in immunology of infectious disease to complement existing research groups. Current strengths in the Department include established programs in staphylococcal disease and obligate intracellular bacteria, with planned growth in virology and existing infrastructure to support BSL3 research. Preference will be given to those individuals with a track record of extramural research funding and commitment to a collaborative research approach. The appointee will also participate in the academic mission of the Department, including graduate teaching in immunology and mentoring of students and postdoctoral fellows. Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, with expertise in immunology pertaining to bacterial, viral, or parasitic infection.
