What You Will Achieve

As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. With your knowledge of genetics, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, virology or closely-related field, you will be an active team member whose contributions impact projects. You will perform assay development and analytical testing for mRNA based biotherapeutics, vaccines, and other novel biologics. You will apply, develop and troubleshoot cell-based, PCR-based, immunoassays and other methods that will be used to support product characterization and process development. You will be using your scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work and academic experience. It is your innovative scientific temperament that will help in making Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe

How You Will Achieve It
  • Perform, troubleshoot and develop cell-based, PCR, and immunoassays, while applying these methods to a broad range of early and late stage products.
  • Analyze and communicate experimental results both orally and in written reports to colleagues and management.
  • Maintain written records of all experimental work in accordance with Good Lab Practices/ (Current) Good Manufacturing Practices (GLP/GMP) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Review and verify scientific experiments and data documented in electronic laboratory notebooks and technical reports.
  • Author and review technical documents, including qualification and validation reports, analytical test procedures, investigation reports.
  • Support formulation development, generate analytical data to be used for regulatory submissions, participate in technology transfer activities.
  • Perform job responsibilities in compliance with {Current} Good Manufacturing Practice {part of GxP} Good Laboratory Practices {part of GxP} and all other regulatory agency requirements, where applicable.
  • Contribute to achievement of immediate work group goals and collaborate effectively with other team members on multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Assist in the maintenance and renewal of laboratory instruments, reagents and materials, and in the maintenance and continuous improvement of safe and effective working practices.


Qualifications

Must-Have
  • MINIMUM: Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, immunology, biotechnology or related field with 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated technical skills and scientific expertise in analytical method development, troubleshooting and execution of cell based and PCR methods
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, such as Good Laboratory Practices {part of GxP}
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience with laboratory data systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven record of delivering results in a fast paced environment


Nice-to-Have
  • Experience in a {Current} Good Manufacturing Practices {part of GxP} laboratory
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques including but not limited to primary cell culture and transduction, flow cytometry, microscopy
  • Proficiency in DNA technologies such as primer/probe design, PCR/ddPCR, and sequencing
  • Analytical method validation experience
