Assistant Professor of Anatomy & Neurobiology

The Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology of the US LCME-accredited School of Medicine of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) invites applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level, focused on research, teaching, and service, to begin between January and June 2023. Applicants should hold a PhD or an MD/PhD in a biomedical science or related field from an accredited academic institution, and should have postdoctoral research experience, a publication record, and experience applying for external competitive research funding. Experience in the training of graduate students as well as in teaching medical and/or graduate courses is highly desirable. The field of research, within the disciplines of Anatomy and Neurobiology, is open. Teaching responsibilities will be in the fields of human histology/cell biology, embryology, gross anatomy, and neuroscience. Candidates are also expected to share the department´s strong commitment to student mentoring and outreach activities. Bilingualism (Spanish/English) is considered highly valuable, but not required. The successful candidates for these tenure-track positions will be provided with laboratory space at the main campus, salary + benefits to be provided by the institution, access to shared facilities and equipment, and access to students from various programs.
