The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston seeks highly qualified applicants from all levels, from Assistant to Full Professor, for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Pharmacology. Outstanding applicants with cutting-edge research programs in disease physiology, pharmacology, and drug discovery/development are strongly encouraged to apply. Our Department is located in Health Building 2, a 300,000-square-foot state-of-the-art research facility on the University of Houston Campus. Research programs are supported with exceptional laboratory space, cutting-edge core research facilities, a full-featured vivarium, and teaching resources. The research strengths of the Department’s faculty include programs in cardiovascular, skeletal muscle, renal, neuroscience, and cancer.

We welcome candidates that demonstrate a strong potential for leadership in research and professional activity, a commitment to supporting the educational objectives of graduate and professional degree programs, and a desire to work in an environment that promotes diversity and excellence. Competitive applicants will have earned a doctoral or medical degree, have postdoctoral training, scholarly productivity with an excellent publication record, and an extramurally funded research program.  The successful candidate will receive competitive full-salary support and an attractive start-up package. The candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized extramurally funded research program and participate in the Pharm.D. professional program and Ph.D. program in Pharmacology.
