The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston seeks highly qualified applicants from all levels, from Assistant to Full Professor, for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Pharmacology. Outstanding applicants with cutting-edge research programs in disease physiology, pharmacology, and drug discovery/development are strongly encouraged to apply. Our Department is located in Health Building 2, a 300,000-square-foot state-of-the-art research facility on the University of Houston Campus. Research programs are supported with exceptional laboratory space, cutting-edge core research facilities, a full-featured vivarium, and teaching resources. The research strengths of the Department’s faculty include programs in cardiovascular, skeletal muscle, renal, neuroscience, and cancer.

Competitive applicants will have earned a doctoral or medical degree, have postdoctoral training, scholarly productivity with an excellent publication record, and an extramurally funded research program. The successful candidate will receive competitive full-salary support and an attractive start-up package. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the final candidate's credentials and experience. The candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized extramurally funded research program and participate in the Pharm.D. professional program and Ph.D. program in Pharmacology.
