Associate Scientist

GSK is currently looking for an Associate Scientist in Rockville, MD to join our team . Rockville Biopharm manufactures innovative, high-quality medicines for patients. The analytical group of the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT-A) is responsible for late-stage biopharmaceuticals' characterization, Tech Transfer and analytical method development and qualifications. This team also provides analytical support globally for new process development, characterization, and validation; and helps manufacturing investigation. MSAT-A is also responsible for performing various testing for clinical stage projects in Manufacturing at Rockville Biopharm. MSAT-Analytical at Rockville has an opening for, a highly self-motivated, quick learning, and responsible individual as an Associate Scientist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Train on and perform testing using multiple methods to evaluate protein biopharmaceuticals for characterization, process validation, and stability
• Work with experienced scientists to optimize, transfer, or qualify analytical methods
• Use electronic databases to store test data
• Provide analytical support for MSAT's Upstream and Downstream teams for process development and characterization projects
• Co-author analytical protocols and reports
• Follow FDA and/or European agency regulations on analytical methods as they apply

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• BS/BA in Life science, chemistry, engineering or equivalent technical discipline with 1+ years laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

• Experience with protein analysis by HPLC, Capillary
• Electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, or other techniques
• Working in a GXP environment
• Familiar with Microsoft office
