POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Division of Earth and Climate Sciences in the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in area of Geochemistry of Earth-Water-Air Systems. We seek applicants with a strong background in earth sciences and expertise in chemical reactions among rocks, water, the atmosphere, soils, and/or biota. We are particularly interested in scientists whose research pertains to fundamental questions related to climate change, mitigation of climate change, and energy transformation.

Joint appointments with other Duke University departments and schools will also be considered. Appointment at a level higher than Assistant Professor will be considered in extraordinary cases.

The Division of Earth and Climate Sciences is committed to supporting the ‘whole person', whether faculty, students, or staff. This includes addressing the broader needs of faculty, including dual career couples and primary care givers. Financial and in-kind resources are available from the University, the Nicholas School, and the Division to pursue activities that help accelerate our efforts to achieve our equity and inclusion goals.
