The Department of Chemistry (​cse.umn.edu/chem​) seeks to fill two tenured faculty positions. Applications will be considered from candidates within the broad area of chemical synthesis with implications in organic, inorganic, materials, biological, and/or physical chemistry fields. Candidates with research programs with potential for high societal impact for energy, environment, and health would be given strong consideration. Successful candidates will be expected to sustain an innovative research program, advise research students, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Department of Chemistry, participate in departmental and university governance, and take a role in mentoring and advocating for our junior faculty. Selection will be based on each candidate’s record of previous accomplishments relevant to these responsibilities, their potential for outstanding future contributions, and their potential to actively advance the institution’s goal of creating a positive campus climate that is both inclusive and diverse. Appointees must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree by the date of appointment. Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.
