POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION

Aab Cardiovascular Research Institute/Department of Medicine

University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry

The Aab Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry invites applications for multiple post-doctoral positions in cardiovascular research.  The CVRI has long-standing strengths in vascular biology, cardiac biology, and platelets/thrombosis.   Equity and inclusion are core values at the University of Rochester Medical Center and the CVRI highly values a diverse and inclusive work environment.  We actively seek post-doctoral fellows for multiple research labs.  The CVRI and medical center provide access to state-of-the art resources through both institute and medical center supported cores as well as career and personal support for all post-docs. This includes institute supported microscopy, microsurgery, and histology cores, medical center supported functional genomics and flow cytometry cores, and a highly supportive office of Equity and Inclusion. We seek candidates from diverse backgrounds that are highly collaborative and can work with the many established research programs in the Aab CVRI and throughout the medical center.  Applicants must have completed a PhD, MD, DVM or similar training at the time of initiating employment.

About the Aab CVRI

The University of Rochester Medical Center opened the Aab CVRI in 2007 bringing together scientists, students and technicians under one research institute.  Research laboratories in the CVRI conduct research with the goal of furthering the understanding of heart and vascular disease.  All members of the CVRI value the principles of our medical center that seek to “build, recruit, nurture, exemplify, and engage in the work of being anti-racist”.  Major research programs currently in the CVRI include cardiac fibrosis and heart failure, thrombosis, vascular and neurovascular inflammation.

Interested applicants should send curriculum vitae, a brief description of research interests, and the contact information of three references to to the attention of Jacqueline Velasquez at CVRI.
