Job Details
The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.
The primary purpose of the Research Investigator is to assist the Principal Investigator and other Faculty members with scientific research projects. Learns and adapts techniques for use in experiments, plans and assists training and research work activity for research personnel. Supervises use of laboratory equipment, implements safety procedures, maintains records, compiles, manage and maintain laboratory, ordering and maintaining supplies, equipment, media, reagents, etc., manages animal experiment protocol of the lab, writes and submits project results to superiors.
KEY FUNCTIONS
1.) Manage and maintain laboratory, ordering and maintaining supplies, equipment, media,
reagents, etc., setting up experiments and supplies needed to perform projects. Manage animal experiment protocols and maintain lab safety documents.
2.) Perform technical laboratory duties, techniques, in vivo and in vitro experiments, molecular
mechanism of combination of molecular targeted anti-cancer agents, radiation of cells,
3.) Training and supervising other research personnel on techniques and equipment procedures
4.) Maintenance of laboratory safety procedures and records and facilities
5.) Collect, analyze, plot data using appropriate software applications, store and record data on computer and lab notebooks
6.) Assist in writing of scientific papers for publication, grant applications and presentations at scientific meetings
7.) Other duties as assigned
